Unlocking Hidden Value: Life Settlements for High-Net-Worth Clients and Business Owners
Join us for an insightful presentation led by Scott Etish, Director of Strategic Partnerships at Coventry First, as he explores the transformative potential of the secondary market for life insurance. Life settlements offer policyowners a powerful financial tool—providing a cash payout that often far exceeds a policy’s surrender value. For clients with policies that are no longer needed, wanted, or affordable, a life settlement can unlock hidden value and deliver newfound financial flexibility. This opportunity is especially relevant for high-net-worth individuals and business owners navigating evolving estate plans or shifting business needs.
Highlights of the presentation include:
✅ Legal and Fiduciary Considerations - Understand your ethical and professional responsibilities when evaluating life settlements and how to protect clients’ best interests.
✅ Tax Implications and Planning Opportunities - Explore the tax impact of life settlements—and how the upcoming sunset of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act could reshape estate and tax strategies.
✅ Navigating the Secondary Market - Gain insight into how policies are valued, what drives pricing, and strategies to help clients maximize settlement offers.
✅ Business-Owned Life Insurance - Learn how companies can create liquidity through life settlements when financial goals shift or key-person coverage is no longer essential.
✅ Risk Mitigation for Fiduciaries - Discover how regular policy reviews and expert policy appraisals can help fiduciaries fulfill their duty of care and avoid missed opportunities.
Whether you’re advising a client on estate planning, business succession, or premium management, life settlements are critical to consider before lapsing or surrendering a policy.
